…that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, that by any means possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead.
Philippians 3:10-11

A wise man will do whatever it takes – by ‘any means possible’ – to have a joyful eternity. A God-filled forever.

Anything includes sharing in suffering, becoming like Jesus.

And we do that by taking on his righteousness.
And we do that because Jesus made a way for us in his death.

That is the power of his resurrection.

and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith-
Philippians 3:9

Here is the gospel: It’s not your righteousness, it’s Christ.

We will be righteous, one day, through Christ, but that isn’t what saves us.

We have faith in Jesus Christ who was perfectly righteous – that’s what saves us.

That is how we’ll be found in him.

And being found in him is the only way to a happy ending – a happy eternity.

But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ

Philippians 3:7-8

There is a lot of good in the world. There is beauty and there is love and there is truth and their is family and friendship and home.

But none of them are worthy anything if you doh’t have Christ.
And even if we lose all of them, we can still have Christ – who is of far more value.

Value, worship, glorify Christ and all these things shall be added to you.

For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to give strong support to those whose heart is blameless toward him…

2 Chronicles 16:9

Is your heart blameless before God?

No? Well then, these words aren’t good news.

But … if your sins have been washed clean by the blood of Jesus, then you are blameless – through the reconciliation with God that only Jesus could create for you.

So then it’s good news: God knows your situation and he will support you in the difficult times. Thank Him. Praise Him. Trust Him.

Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.

1 Timothy 4:12

There are some good verses in the Bible that talk about the blessings of wisdom that comes from old age, but this verse (along with a few others) indicates that we should not assume that a young person can’t also be someone we look to as an example of how a Christian should live.

This verse tells young person – be the kind of young man or woman that older Christians can see good in.

In the way you talk, in how you act, in the way you show love and faith and in how you stay pure.

Don’t be discouraged by doubts, and earn trust.

Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.

Here and many other places in the Word of God, there are two thing that a person must do to have eternal life.

They must believe in the Son of God, Jesus Christ as the one and only Savior
They must obey this Son of God – to avoid God’s wrath.

Do you want life, even eternal life? Believe in and Obey Jesus.

None of us lives to himself, and none of us dies to himself. For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s.

Are you in the Lord’s hands? When you die, will you die to the Lord?

Repent and believe in him.
Obey him and live for him.
