Application of the Fighter Verse for December 25/26

Track 30 in Songs Set E – Matthew 10:18-20 And you will be dragged before governors and kings for my sake, to bear witness before them and the Gentiles. When they deliver you over, do not be anxious how you are to speak or what you are to say, for what you are to say will be given to you in that hour. For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.

Talk about perspective as to when you need not fret about something.  Can you imagine being dragged before President Obama to bear witness to Christ?  Would you be nervous?  Paul was dragged before Caesar.  Peter was crucified.  All this and Jesus tells us not to be anxious about what we will say.

If you are not to be anxious when before kings, how much more can you rest each day?

Practical suggestions this week:

– Meditate upon God’s promises to you.  Pray that the you will be at rest as you face your day.

– Consider that Jesus calls Christians to bear witness.  Are you ready to bear witness in front of governors and kings for Jesus’ sake?

– As you bear witness to Jesus, may the Spirit speak through you.  Pray to God that this will be so as you meditate upon this verse each day.

How will you use this bible verse in your life this week? with your spouse? your children? your family? your neighbors?
