(start at 1:20 for this week’s verse)
Psalm 103:8-10
The LORD is merciful and gracious,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
He will not always chide,
nor will he keep his anger forever.
He does not deal with us according to our sins,
nor repay us according to our iniquities.
This passage begins with mercy and then lists the ways God shows mercy.
On Wednesday nights I work with Kindergardeners and first graders and when I get to passages like this I say things like “We would be in big trouble if it weren’t for these kinds of truths” or “we would be lost if this wasn’t true.”
It is very good for us to think about how doomed we would be except for God’s mercy.
Have you thought about what you deserve every day but what you aren’t receiving because of what Jesus did for you?
Have you thanked God for his Mercy today?
