Application for July 20-21, 2013 :: Psalm 42:11

===

Psalm 42:11

Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God.

When I presented this song to Phil Carlson, the gifted musician who performed it, he wisely suggested that we make the first part minor – because it’s not a happy text. I’m glad he did.

The fact of the matter is that Christians can be have souls that are cast down and turmoil. This doesn’t make them lesser Christians.

But the good news is we reason to hope. God is our hope. God is our Salvation.

When we are experiencing hard times – and some of them are very, very hard, we can know that we have a praiseworthy God who gives us hope.

[Just a reminder – many or most of the songs posted on this site or at our channel at Youtube.com are demo or scratch versions (not finalized) of what will be available on the CD or iTunes.]
