5-33 Application for Aug 22-23, 2020 :: Psalm 34:19-22

===

Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all. He keeps all his bones; not one of them is broken. Affliction will slay the wicked, and those who hate the righteous will be condemned. The LORD redeems the life of his servants; none of those who take refuge in him will be condemned.

Psalm 34:19-22

[This weeks passage begins at around 3:18 in the song]

I think we should take note of this. The righteous person is not promised a life free of problems. Soberly, it’s the opposite – here we’re told that the one who is righteous will have many afflictions. We know that Jesus had many afflictions and didn’t have an easy life.

But we also know that none of his bones were broken. His afflictions did not destroy him.

In contrast, those who are wicked will be slayed by their afflictions. And they will be condemned.

Follow the Righteous One. Serve Him. Run away from condemnation and towards blessing.
