For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus
There is only one God. There is only one mediator, the God man Christ Jesus. One God, three persons as one God. Jesus is God in the flesh, not just a man. He one of the three persons of God along with the Father and the Holy Spirit. This is confusing at first glance and does not seem to make sense. We know that one man cannot be three persons. But, God is greater than man and He created man. His understanding is greater. As three persons, God reveals himself for our good and His glory.
Practical suggestions:
– Meditate upon this verse and know there is one God. (Deuteronomy 6:5)
– Pray to God and ask Him to reveal to you the truth about himself. (Galatians 3:20)
– Consider how Jesus mediates on your behalf to reconcile you to God.
