Application for June 21-22, 2014 :: Psalm 139:17-18

How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! If I would count them, they are more than the sand. I awake, and I am still with you.

Psalm 139:17-18

(This section of the passage begins in this song at around 4:10)

Yesterday the guest preacher at our church spoke on Psalm 139 and he specifically commented on this verse. He suggested that the Psalmist was experiencing love when he noted “I awake and I am still with you.”

Because we don’t deserve that. On any given day, we don’t deserve to awaken. We don’t deserve to be with God. That is a gift from Him.
