3-23 Application for June 16-17, 2018 :: James 4:13-14

===

Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit” yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.

James 4:13-14

It is a proud thing to act like we know with certainty what is going to happen in the future. James is encouraging us to not be proud in this way.

And why shouldn’t we be proud. Because we are finite. We are on the earth a short time. And we are not sovereign.

We should remember that we are finite. And we should remember and trust and glorify and obey the One who is infinite.
