Track 30 in Songs Set E – Matthew 7:24-25 Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. (Next week’s verse is also part of this song. Matthew 7:26-27 And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”)
The pressures of life, the lies of the devil and the distractions of the world get to us each and every day. If you believe the words of Jesus and do them, you will stand against every trial that comes your way. I cannot stand unless I have meditated upon the word of God and prayed through it, holding the cross of Christ before me each and every day.
How often are you blown off the rock each day?
Practical suggestions this week:
– Meditate upon the word of God in the Bible and pray through it. By doing both in the Spirit, you will guard against your mind wandering and your heart hardening.
– Consider what you hear in the word that you do not believe and live out? You will drive out your hypocrisy and kill sin by doing this. (Romans 8:13)
– When you are moved off the rock of Jesus Christ, grab a promise from the word of God and pray until you are moved by God’s promises and return to walking in the Spirit.
How will you use this scripture memory verse in your life this week? with your spouse? your children? your family? your neighbors?
