Application of the Fighter Verse for April 9/10

James 1:2-3 (Listen to song Demo above)

Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness.

What a counter-cultural message this verse is for us!  In much the same way that Christ endured the cross for the joy set before him(Hebrews 12:2), the Christian has joy through trials in life.  This is because we know what is on the other side of the trail.  God is faithful in working all things for our good. (Romans 8:28)  In addition, the trial proves our faith to be genuine and results in enduring faith and growing confidence in God’s faithfulness.

May the testing of your faith give you enduring joy!

Practical suggestions:

– Meditate upon this verse.  Reflect upon how God has been faithful to you through trials.  If you do not feel His faithfulness welling up in joy, pray for the faith to feel it and to be released from bitterness towards God and others.

– Pray that your faith is strengthened in the trials you are enduring.

– Consider how to pray for those whose faith is faltering in trials and suffering.

How will you use this fighter verse song in your life this week? with your spouse? your children? your family? your neighbors?
