Ephesians 6:14-15(Listen to song Demo above)
Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace.
Paul now begins to tell us about the armor to which he has only previously alluded: the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness and the shoes of the readiness of the gospel of peace. To defend ourselves against the powers from the previous verse, God has supplied us with his truth, his righteousness and his peace. The devil is the accuser of the saints. When he comes against us with lies, as he did first with Adam and Eve in the garden, we counter with God’s truth. When he comes against us with accusations of our sin, and there are many, we counter with Christ’s righteousness that he has imputed to us. When Satan comes against us with the everyday stress of this world, with anxiety and all other mental barbs, we counter with the peace of the gospel and who we are in Christ.
God has supplied, in Christ, all that we need to defend ourselves against Satan and his spiritual forces. Through grace, we must put on these means of defense. Pray with me that we might do this and thus stand firm.
